Wonthaggi North Primary School was established in 1912. A new school was built in 1980.  The school has a population of approximately 330 students. It is situated on a site of 2.4 hectares with an adjoining school sanctuary of 2.6 hectares. Children come from a diverse socio-economic background - both rural and urban.

Quality programs are provided to ensure opportunities and success for all students within a safe and orderly environment.  Excellence in learning is encouraged by offering programs that foster self esteem, confidence, independence and co-operative skills.  The school provides a comprehensive curriculum, within a sequential grade structure,  focusing on Literacy and Numeracy skills and learning experiences in the Arts, Science, Technology, Studies of Society and Environment,  Health and Physical Education and Languages Other than English (Japanese). Information Technology is incorporated into all areas of the curriculum.
 
Integration Program : The school is committed to the integration of students with disabilities.  Policies and programs have been developed to provide for children who have specific learning requirements.  All children are given access to a quality education.

 

 

 
 
Library : Our School Library has a collection of novels and text books to assist students in their learning.  We encourage students to actively develop a love of books and reading.
 
 
 
 
Other Facilities : We are very fortunate to have our own gymnasium, large outdoor play areas, covered walkways between outside classrooms,  excellent play equipment, two outdoor basketball courts and the school sanctuary adjoining the school grounds.
